The course takes the form of a research project conducted within a research group. The results of the project are presented in both a written report and an oral presentation. The course includes participation in seminars and attendance at the department’s lectures, as well as acquisition of theoretical knowledge on the subject from reading of the scientific literature. Within this framework, the supervisor and student decide upon the structure and content of the course before it begins
The aim of the course is to provide advanced knowledge of, and practical experience in, advanced and modern methods in the fields of functional pharmacology, neurobiology and the evaluation of drug targets. The following are examples of the methods that may be used: quantitative real-time PCR, genotyping, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, eukaryotic cells or bioinformatic techniques. According to the interests of the student, the course may also contain animal research and work with transgenic mice
Riphah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (RIPS) is functioning under the umbrella of Riphah International University - a chartered “W” Category University by the Federal Government and recognized by the Higher Education Commission. The Institute has already been inspected for affiliation by the Pakistan Pharmacy Council. The institute is housed in a purpose-built dedicated campus.
