Statistics for Business: Online resources

The Journal of Business and Economic Statistics ( JBES ) publishes a range of articles, primarily applied statistical analyses of microeconomic, macroeconomic, forecasting, business, and finance related topics. More general papers in statistics, econometrics, computation, simulation, or graphics are also appropriate if they are immediately applicable to the journal's general topics of interest. Articles published in JBES contain significant results, high-quality methodological content, excellent exposition, and usually include a substantive empirical application.

The aim of the Japanese Journal of Statistics and Data Science (JJSD) is to publish original articles concerning statistical theories and novel applications in diverse research fields related to statistics and data science. It also sometimes publishes review and expository articles on specific topics, which are expected to bring valuable information for researchers interested in the fields selected. The journal also contributes to broadening the coverage of statistics and data analysis in publishing articles based on innovative ideas.

The American Journal of Mathematical and Management Sciences (AJMMS) offers a bridge between classical theory, new methodology, and real-life application of the mathematical and management sciences.

Business analytics research focuses on developing new insights and a holistic understanding of an organisation’s business environment to help make timely and accurate decisions to survive, innovate and grow. Thus, business analytics draws on the full spectrum of descriptive/diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics in order to make better (i.e., data-driven and evidence-based) decisions to create value in the broadest sense.

The Journal of Business Cycle Research promotes the exchange of knowledge and information on theoretical and empirical aspects of economic fluctuations. The range of topics encompasses the methods, analysis, measurement, modeling, monitoring, or forecasting of cyclical fluctuations including but not limited to: business cycles, financial cycles, credit cycles, price fluctuations, sectoral cycles, regional business cycles, international business cycles, the coordination and interaction of cycles,

Since data grows faster than ever, the role of statistics becomes more and more crucial nowadays, and there is no doubt that statistics will be even more critical in the future. The application of statistics is extensive, and in our daily lives there is almost no human activity where the use of statistics is not needed. In this limited volume, we try to cover as many as different and multidisciplinary fields in statistics as possible and aim to present recent developments and applications of statistical analysis. Therefore, this book is organized into three sections: ""The Role of Statistics on Quantification,"" ""Applications of Statistics on Economics and Development,"" and ""Applications of Statistics on Various Topics.""

Statistical practices have recently been questioned by numerous independent authors, to the extent that a significant fraction of accepted research findings can be questioned. This suggests that statistical methodologies may have gone too far into an engineering practice, with minimal concern for their foundation, interpretation, assumptions, and limitations, which may be jeopardized in the current context. Disguised by overwhelming data sets, advanced processing, and stunning presentations, the basic approach is often intractable to anyone but the analyst. The hierarchical nature of statistical inference, exemplified by Bayesian aggregation of prior and derived knowledge, may also be challenging. Conceptual simplified studies of the kind presented in this book could therefore provide valuable guidance when developing statistical methodologies, but also applying state of the art with greater confidence.

The dynamically changing world economy, in an era of intensive development and globalization, creates new needs in both the theoretical models of management and in the practical discussion related to the perception of business. Because of new economic phenomena related to the crisis, there is a need for the design and operationalization of innovative business models for companies. Due to the fact that in times of crisis, the principles of strategic balance are particularly important; these business models can be sustainable business models. Moreover, it is essential to skillfully use different methods and concepts of management to ensure the continuity of business. It seems that sustainable business models, in their essence, can support companies' effectiveness and contribute to their stable, sustainable functioning in the difficult, ever-changing market. This Special Issue aims to discuss the key mechanisms concerning the design and operationalization of sustainable business models, from a strategic perspective. We invite you to contribute to this Issue by submitting comprehensive reviews, case studies, or research articles. Papers selected for this Special Issue are subject to a rigorous peer review procedure, with the aim of rapid and wide dissemination of research results, developments, and applications.
