Course Description:

This course is designed for physical therapists to provide knowledge and exposure for various obstetric and gynecological emergencies care and procedures, so they respond appropriately to obstetric emergencies and work effectively as members of an EmOC team.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of these topic student will be able to

  • Recognize different obstetric & gynecological emergency conditions.
  • Interpret the potential maternal & fetal risk during the perinatal and Intrapartum assessment.
  • Asses for physiotherapeutic management in obstetric & gynecological emergency.
  • Provide care and referral to treat the obstetric & gynecological emergency conditions.
  • Apply the Islamic ethical & moral values during patient care
  • Engage patients and families as active participants in their care
