D modeling is the process of creating three-dimensional objects using specialized software. 3D models can be used to create scenes for animation or still imagery.

Overview of 3ds Max

  • 3ds max interface
  • Navigation techniques and tools
  • Using viewpoints and view settings
  • Cameras
  • Manipulation of tools
  • Modifiers like bend, twist, etc.

Primitives and  Modeling

  • Using 2d shapes
  • Converting 2d  shapes into models using extrude and bevel
  • Lofting techniques
  • Assignment: create a simple  room using basic shapes

Polygon Modeling and product  model

  • Understanding proper modeling techniques
  • Using vertices face and edges
  • Adding edge loops
  • Assignment: Create a solid model, for example, a train pile of books.
  • Table etc.

Polygon Modeling and Product Model
