Mathematics: Association & Societies

We are a society of mathematics students and professionals dedicated to advancing research, supporting learning and careers, and building our mathematical community.
We work to advance your scholarship and connect you to the mathematical community through meetings, programs, grants, publications, education resources, and advocacy work.

The European Mathematical Society is the learned society for mathematicians throughout Europe. It promotes the development of all aspects of mathematics in Europe, in particular mathematical research, relations of mathematics to society, relations to European institutions, and mathematical education. The EMS has as its members around 60 national mathematical societies in Europe, 50 mathematical research centers and departments, and 3000 individuals.

IMU is an international non-governmental and non-profit scientific organization, with the purpose of promoting international cooperation in mathematics. It is a member of the International Science Council (ISC). IMU endorses ISC's Principle of Freedom, Responsibility and Universality of Science.

Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is an international community of 14,000 individual members. Almost 500 academic, manufacturing, research and development, service and consulting organizations, government, and military organizations worldwide are institutional members. SIAM was incorporated in 1952 as a nonprofit organization to convey useful mathematical knowledge to other professionals who could implement mathematical theory for practical, industrial, or scientific use.
