Course Description

Learning disabilities affect thousands of individuals from all areas of life. In this course, students will learn the basics regarding the identification and characteristics of different learning disabilities, and which types are most commonly diagnosed. This course will also provide a deepen knowledge of the reading and writing processes. It will also develop their 57 skill in differential diagnosis for struggling readers and writers in inclusive educational settings and for individual education.

Learning Objectives

After studying this course student will be able to

• CLO1:Develop an understanding of learning disability by explaining the difference between disability, impairment, and handicap

• CLO2: Acquire knowledge about what learning disability is and what it is not

 • CLO3:Differentiate learning disability from attention deficit hyperactive disorder and Autism

• CLO4: Illustrate appropriate tests and communicate test scores in the form of assessment report.

• CLO5: Analyze different types of learning disability and plan appropriate intervention for its management.
