Course Description:

This course elaborates the importance of Professional Ethics in the field of Rehabilitation and Allied Health Sciences. The first part of the course acquaints the students with the ethical viewpoint of Islam regarding the general code of conduct, which is observed by professionals. The second part develops students’ in-depth understanding of the specific professional activities that are carried out in performing their professional duties. This part also explains how professional issues are resolved being applying professional skills and abilities, keeping the standards prescribed by the Qur’an and Sunnah. The course enhances the ethical and moral standards of professional life and ensures how professional excellence can be achieved. It also provides a way of maintaining a balanced attitude between professional and personal codes of conduct and makes professionals as good citizens too. Overall, the course aims at giving deducing guidelines and instructions to the students for their professional morality from the Qur’anic teachings and Sunnah of the Prophet ( صلى وسلم عليه هلال). The course identifies the ethical or moral issues emerging in the field of Rehabilitation and Allied Health Sciences and suggests appropriate Islamic solutions, approaches, and responsibilities of the Rehabilitation Professionals as well.
