Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy (CPTL501): Societies and Organization

The South African Society of Physiotherapy is a founding member of World Physiotherapy in 1951 and is part of our Africa region. The South African Society of Physiotherapy, or its national special interest groups, are members of the following specialty groups recognised by World Physiotherapy:
Acupuncture, Cardiorespiratory, Mental health
Musculoskeletal, Neurology
Occupational health and ergonomics
Older people, Pediatrics
Pelvic and women's health
Private practice, Sports

The Academy has a 50 year history of promotion and advancement of cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy practice, education and research. Our membership spans the United States as well as four other countries and reflects diverse practice settings, perspectives and experiences.
Evidence of our contributions to the physical therapy profession can be found in our leadership, our educational programs, our publications, our specialty certification but, most importantly, in the dedication and activism of our members!
