Introduction to Ethical Research: Definition and purpose of conducting ethical research, Types of research (qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods), Basic principles of the scientific method, Historical overview of research misconduct and ethical violations, The Belmont Report and its principles (respect for persons, beneficence, justice), Declaration of Helsinki and other relevant international guidelines
  2. Research Design with Ethical Principles and Codes: Overview of ethical codes in various disciplines (e.g., APA, ICMJE), The role of ethics committees and Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), Experimental design, Non-experimental design, Quasi-experimental design, Cross-sectional, and longitudinal studies
  3. Sampling Techniques: Probability sampling (random sampling, stratified sampling), non-probability sampling (convenience sampling, purposive sampling)
  4. Data Collection Methods: Surveys and questionnaires, Interviews (structured, semi-structured, unstructured), Observations (participant and non-participant), Case studies
