About Course

Oral Pathology is one of the basic science subject in dentistry, concerned with the scientific study of the cause and effect of oral diseases, an understanding of which is essential for diagnosis and for the development of rationale for treatment planning and preventive program. The discipline of Oral Pathology links the training in basic sciences with its applications in clinical dentistry. It covers the diverse spectrum of disease processes affecting oral structures and tissues.

The course at Islamic International Dental College offers an in depth study into pathologies of the oral cavity including the teeth, periodontium, oral mucosa, tongue, jaws and salivary glands, among other areas affected with disease. This helps to correlate the clinical appearance of the disease with their underlying microbiological features. Many of the general syndromes can have oral manifestations characteristic enough to lead to the diagnosis of the underlying syndrome.
