Media Aesthetics: Course Outline

Media Aesthetics is a research group whose aim is to explore the medium's importance for the mediated expression. We work on film, photography, medical imaging and other visual media as we consider mediation and the technology and materiality of mediation

Course Objectives

  1. It will help students to develop an understanding about the integration of both theory and practice of basic aesthetic concepts and issues.
  2. It will enhance students’ comprehension in arts and cultural studies which they not only require in specific theoretical and cultural studies but also gain familiarity with cultural contexts and become sensitive to cultural differences.
  3. Further, it will help students to produce media content (print or electronic) that would be in line with the concepts given in the course outline.
