Probability and Random Variable (BS-311 Engineering): Home

A random variable is a numerical description of the outcome of a statistical experiment. ... The probability distribution for a random variable describes how the probabilities are distributed over the values of the random variable.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The objective of BS-311 Probability in Engineering is to provide the fundamentals and basic concepts of probability theory and random process to support advance courses in electrical engineering like Analog & Digital Communication, Wireless communication and Digital Signal Processing etc. The major objective of the course is to help the students to develop an intuition and an interest for random phenomena and to introduce both theoretical issues and applications that are useful in electrical engineering applications like probabilistic based digital receivers, error probabilities of system.
