Tanzania Nursing & Midwifery Council
Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council - TNMC is a body established to facilitate a national approach to nursing and midwifery regulation. The TNMC works with The Tanzania Ministry of Health in evolving standards for statutory nursing and midwifery regulation.
Medical Women Association of Tanzania
The Medical Women Association of Tanzania (MEWATA) strives to improve the health of women in Tanzania. They conduct campaigns to educate and screen women for breast and cervical cancer and advocate for necessary treatment. By encouraging girls to study science in school, they also build for the future

International Nursing Council
The International Council of Nurses (ICN) is a federation of more than 130 national nurses associations. It was founded in 1899 and was the first international organization for health care professionals. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

The organization's goals are to bring nurses' organizations together in a worldwide body, to advance the socio-economic status of nurses and the profession of nursing worldwide, and to influence global and domestic health policy.
Membership is limited to one nursing organization per nation. In most cases, this is the national nurses' association (such as the American Nurses Association, the Slovak Chamber of Nurses and Midwives or the Nursing Association of Nepal).[1] In 2001, ICN permitted its members to adopt alliance or collaborative structures to be more inclusive of other domestic nursing groups.[2] However, few member organizations have adopted the new structures.
Amref health Africa

Amref Health Africa has been active in Tanzania since 1957, and in 1987, the country office was established in Dar es Salaam. Since then, Amref Health Africa Tanzania has been among the major supporters of the Government of Tanzania’s health care initiatives, particularly the Ministry of Health. Amref has supported the development of a number of national health policies, strategies, and guidelines for equitable health service delivery.
From Jan 2022 to date, Amref Health Africa Tanzania has implemented 19 projects, covering 25 regions in Tanzania mainland and all regions of Zanzibar (with over 57% and 16% of the projects being implemented in Lake Zone and Zanzibar, respectively).
Amref’s projects are categorized into four main thematic areas:
Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH): Disease Control and Prevention (DCP) program which comprises Communicable and Non-communicable diseases e.g., HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), Leprosy, Obstetric Fistula, and other Laboratory Services; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Capacity Building Program.
Amref Health Africa Tanzania’s projects respond to national health priorities and sustainable development goals in addressing the community need to underserved marginalized women and children. We work to increase the effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of health services by strengthening health systems, improving access to services and advocating for stronger community health systems, and influencing health policies. With the 2018-2022 strategy, Amref Health Africa in Tanzania remains a strong supporter of the universal health coverage agenda.
