Neuropsychology: Course Outlines (Psy-5201)

Course Objectives

The goal of this course is to help internee link brain and behavior, specifically how nervous system’s structure and function is implicated in Psychiatric Disorders. The student will be provided with the knowledge of structure and function of nervous system: the anatomy and function of neurons, the role of neurotransmitters involved in emotions and behavior, and the electrical and chemical communications between neurons. The course also focuses on how changes to the brain due to injury, developmental factors, and diseases affect behavior.

Course Outcome

The internees will be able to apply the knowledge of Neuropsychology to treat disorders involving factors like Injury, Developmental Factors, and Brain Diseases and Head Injuries.
