Psychological Assessment (Practical): Course Outline (APSY-3103)

It involves the ability to measure and formulate degree of need and mental status, develop psychological profiles in response to particular referral problems

Course Objective

a. This course will provide hand on experience of constructing an achievement test, and determine its psychometric properties.
b. The course also aims to provide students practical experience of administration, scoring, interpreting and writing report following code of ethics.

Course Contents

a. Construction of an achievement test (objective type, MCQs): school level
b. Administration of one test from each category i.e. aptitude, personality, ability, spirituality and religiosity and adjustment (self and other)
c. Writing report
Each student will prepare a portfolio of the following and evaluation will be carried out by an external examiner on the basis of portfolio and viva voce.

Course outcome

a. Develop a test, standardize it and to determine its psychometric properties.
b. Prepare complete profile of self and of another individual after administrating a complete test battery.
c. Consult test manuals and follow instructions for administration, scoring and report writing
