Course description:
This course will cover all the medical, musculoskeletal and psychological disorders of women of all ages. It includes examination and physical therapy management of immune system, cardiac, endocrine, oncological pathologies and disorders common in women.

To perform examination and intervention for work-related musculoskeletal disorders among working females.
To examine and intervene immune system related musculoskeletal disorders during the middle years and beyond
To examine, manage and refer women with cardiac diseases.
To assess and apply physical therapy management in females with osteoporosis and osteoporotic fractures.
To assess and manage oncological conditions in women.

To perform assessment and management of women Psychosocial disorders.
To understand the physiological changes in pregnancy relevant to the physiotherapy management of pregnancy-related lumbo-pelvic problems
To understand the neuromusculoskeletal structure and function of the thoracic and lumbo-pelvic complex
To describe and understand the pregnancy-related altered biomechanics of the thoracic and lumbo-pelvic Complex
To discuss the aetiology of common pregnancy-related musculoskeletal dysfunction
To have an awareness of the psychosocial influences and emotional needs of the woman during the child bearing years
To adapt assessment and examination techniques for the antenatal and postnatal woman
To develop and adapt a range of skills including manual techniques and exercise for the antenatal and postnatal woman
To apply clinical reasoning and analysis to direct physiotherapy intervention
