Course Outline

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

At the end of this course, students will be able to analyze different treatment strategies for Cushing syndrome according to the special characteristics of the patients. They will also learn the role of different treatment options in the treatment of DM and their role in the complications of DM. This course also consists of multiple topics from different chapters of special pharmacology,  that will help students to learn about less frequent but lethal diseases like rickets. Students will also be able to make sense of antisense drugs. 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

The course objectives aim to develop the student's ability to:

  • Analyze different strategies to treat Cushing syndrome.
  • Integrate different treatment options for DM to prevent its complications.
  • Inculcate old and new drugs in the treatment of less commonly occurring fetal diseases.
  • Make the sense of antisense drugs.

  •  Chemotherapy of Cushing syndrome 
  •  Drug treatment of complications of diabetes mellitus including:
  •  Nephropathy
  • Retinopathy
  •  Neuropathy
  • Gastro paresis
  •  Drug treatment of Pheochromocytoma
  •  Obesity
  • Ricket / Osteomalacia
  •  Glaucoma
  •  Migraine & Therapeutic immunosuppression
  •  Monoclonal antibodies as therapeutic tools
  • Anti sense drugs (Concepts and prospects)
