Course Objective:
This course is designed to present a basic knowledge of head and neck anatomy and physiology as applied to human communication. Through text, lecture, and a variety of multi-media sources, students will be introduced to the anatomical structures and physiological mechanisms essential for speech production and hearing mechanisms. The course of study involves the anatomy and physiology of the ear and hearing; the anatomy and physiology of respiration and phonation; and the anatomy and physiology of articulation and resonance.
