Course Description

This course is designed to present a basic knowledge of Speech disorders, including mainly
Students will be introduced to the anatomical structures and physiological mechanisms
essential for speech production through text, lectures, and various multimedia sources.

The course study involves the anatomy of the physiological mechanisms involved in speech
production, encompassing features of speech disorder 1, assessment procedures, and
treatment approaches.

Learning Objectives

 Understands the term Speech, Language, Communication, Phonology, voice,
Resonance and Fluency.
 Learn about models of speech sound acquisition
 Able to do phonetic transcription independently
 Analyse and discriminate speech sound disorders
 Evaluate assessment methods of speech sound disorders
 Able to make and implement therapeutic plans for all speech sound disorders
