Pakistan Dental Association
The Pakistan Dental Association is an organization of dentists which has as its aim the encouragement of the health of the public and the promotion of the art and science of dentistry. There are Branches of the Association in all States and a Provisional Branch in the Northern Territory. Membership is voluntary and over 90% of dentists in Pakistan are members. This membership implies an obligation for members to practice their profession in accordance with the high standards laid down by the Association.
American Dental Association
This American Dental Association tells our story and highlights how the ADA has always been a patient-centered, science-based and ethically-driven association. It captures the ADA's spirit and what the ADA strives to be. Founded in 1859, the not-for-profit American Dental Association is the nation's largest dental association, representing more than 157,000 dentist members.
Academy of Operative Dentstry
The objective of the Academy of Operative Dentistry is to promote excellence in Operative Dentistry by exerting our influence in the practice of health professions, in organized dentistry, in health science education, in research and in any other realm where dentistry is involved.

International Association for Dental Research
The International Association for Dental Research (IADR), headquartered in Alexandria, Va. USA, is a nonprofit organization with nearly 12,000 members worldwide. Its mission is : (1) to advance research and increase knowledge for the improvement of oral health worldwide; (2) to support and represent the oral health research community; and (3) to facilitate the communication and application of research findings.
International Dental Ethics & Law Society
In the final two decades of the 20th century, interest in the disciplines of dental ethics and law began to rise rather quickly. At the inspiring initiative of Dr. Yvo Vermylen (Belgium), the first International Congress on Dental Law was held in Belgium (Louvain 1992). Subsequent international congresses in Denmark (Copenhagen 1995) and the United Kingdom (London 1998) were expanded to include the field of dental ethics. More recently, two Dental Ethics Summits were held in the US (St. Louis 1998 and Nashville 2000). Half a dozen dental ethics textbooks appeared in various languages and the number of dental law textbooks grew larger as well. Various local societies for dental ethics and/or law were founded. But an international association had yet to be founded.

In late 1999, a number of experts in the field of dental ethics and law decided to explore the feasibility of a new international society. The group was expanded to a total of ten, representing as many different countries. This Planning Committee defined the nature and scope of the new society, its primary functions and structure. The Statutes were completed in the Fall of 2000, and the Society was formally incorporated in December of 2000. The Founding Board first met on December 29-30, 2000, appropriately in Louvain.
