Survey Sampling: Home

In statistics, survey sampling describes the process of selecting a sample of elements from a target population to conduct a survey.

Objectives

Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to design and implement surveys with the following sampling designs: simple random, systematic, stratified, cluster and multistage, estimate sample size for different sampling designs in order to estimate population level point estimates. This is a foundation course in sample survey methods and principles.

The instructor will present, in a non-technical manner, basic sampling techniques such as simple random sampling, systematic sampling, stratification and cluster sampling. The instructors will provide opportunities to implement sampling techniques in a series of exercises.
