Clinical decision making and planning effective treatment: Home
This course is designed to enhance the professional health practitioner's clinical decision-making skills to support safe practice across various health settings and with different client populations with diverse health issues. Using a case-based approach and a clinical decision-making framework, participants are supported to explore the current knowledge required to implement best practices with respect to the assessment and care of clients with various actual or potential health challenges.
By working through the learning activities in this course, students will:
- Develop participant confidence and competence in accessing resources to facilitate clinical decision-making skills in order to prepare for their return to a practice setting wherein diverse forms of knowledge and decision-making skills are required to provide quality health care.
- Enhance participant knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, epidemiology, social determinants of health, and application of this empirical knowledge in client assessment and care across the lifespan.
- Augment participant understanding of several frameworks to support clinical decision-making.
- Increase participants capacity to assess, plan and evaluate client-centred care based on multiple ways of knowing, principles of evidence based decisions (evidence based practice) and current best-practices.
About Rehabilitation Sciences
The Riphah College of Rehabilitation Science (RCRS) was established in 2007 under the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (FHMS) of Riphah International University with the aim to produce graduates of Physical Therapy and other Rehabilitation Professions in Pakistan according to international standards. Riphah is the pioneer institute in the Entry level Doctor of physical therapy program (DPT) and Post Professional Doctor of Physical therapy program (PP-DPT) in Pakistan (Equivalency of 18 years of schooling/M.Phil as per HEC criteria).The College has the largest and highly qualified faculty of physical therapy. This is the only institute which has foreign qualified faculty (UK & USA). The college has two campuses, Islamabad and Lahore. The college also has great contribution for the uplifting of rehabilitation sciences professions by enhancing the knowledge and skills of the practicing clinicians. The college has a leading role by developing uniform DPT curriculum in the country.
The Director of the College was nominated as secretary of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) national curriculum revision committee (NCRC).
