The course is specifically designed for the graduate students of finance at Riphah International University Lahore Campus. The course will introduce and delineate basic concepts and techniques in investments by examining such topics as global economic system, resource allocation, riskreturn tradeoff, optimal portfolio construction, and characteristics of asset pricing model etc.
The objective of this course is to develop critical economic reasoning and understanding of important empirical issues in the finance. This course analysis a variety of issues by introducing a study of recent empirical literature. Specifically, we will cover efficient markets theory, modern portfolio theory, asset pricing models, portfolio management strategies, and portfolio performance evaluation. On completion, students will be able to fully apply investment management techniques and play vital role in many areas like financial analysis and financial planning, investment banking, and corporate finance.
