Literary criticism (or literary studies) is the study, evaluation, and interpretation of literature. Modern literary criticism is often influenced by literary theory,the art or practice of judging and commenting on the qualities and character.
Rational of the course
RATIONALE: This course is intended to provide some rudimentary knowledge of critical theories of important critics. The study of literature without understanding its critical principles is like a ship without rudder. Added to this there are various schools of criticism as well, the knowledge of which is equally important.
